Did You Know? You Can Prevent Bone Loss with Very Low Doses of Estrogen
A study published in the Annals of Internal
Medicine in the summer of 1999 showed that lower doses of replacement estrogen can prevent
post-menopausal one loss with reduced side effects, when taken in conjunction with calcium
and vitamin D.
Overall, women who were complaining of symptoms such as
breast tenderness, spotting, pelvic discomfort and mood changes when they switched to a
lower dose, had less symptoms and those symptoms eventually disappeared within six months.
According to this study, women would be able
to use low doses of estrogen to prevent bone loss or osteoporosis.
