Did You Know? Smoking
Smoking is the single most
preventable cause of illness and premature death. Women tend to be heavier smokers, start
at younger ages, and are less successful in quitting than men.
If you a smoker and you have made the
decision to quit, and you lead a sedentary life, you should consider starting with an
exercise program.
According to a study published in the
Archives of Internal Medicine, women who exercised at least three times per week were
about twice as likely to stop smoking cigarettes and did not gain as much weight as
sedentary women who were trying to quit.
