Did You Know? Exercise wins again
One out of eight women will
develop breast cancer sometime in her life, but many studies have found that women who
exercise regularly are less likely to develop breast cancer.
A study published in the
Archives of Internal Medicine shows that women who spend seven hours a week or more
engaged in some kind of moderate exercise decreased their risk of breast cancer by 20
percent.
The belief is that exercise wards off
breast cancer by lowering the body's level of estrogen, which stimulates cell growth.
